Happy Wednesday everyone! This past weekend, I celebrated an interesting milestone. I have officially been single and independent for three whole years!
I invited all of my closest friends over to celebrate, because what the heck, right?! Everyone out there is celebrating getting married, having babies, and all of that stuff that I am not experiencing right now, nor will I be in the near future. I'm also totally okay with that (if we're being honest, kids aren't really in the cards for me anyways). So, I figured I would invite people over to celebrate one of the best things you can celebrate - being independent!
If these past three years have taught me anything, it's how to deal with shit on my own, pardon my French. As much as I would LOVE to have a boyfriend help me out with car troubles, life issues and just stuff that I don't want to deal with on my own, this has been good for me. I am so proud of the woman that I am today, and I know I wouldn't be where I am if I was still in a dead end relationship - absolutely no hard feelings towards Matt, he is an amazing guy who is doing great for himself and I'm forever thankful for the friendship we now share. Any woman would be lucky to be with him.
So, here I am, living my best life possible. I have amazing friends and family, and I know that when the time is right, it will happen for me. For now, since I don't know when that time will be, I'm going to continue enjoying being a strong, independent woman!
