Winter Wonderland

by Amanda Friesen

Happy Monday everyone! Leanne and I went up to Grouse Mountain this weekend, as the company I work for sponsors them, so we had a free pass. I thought I would show you some of the lovely pictures I took, as well as share some of the funny stories that happened while we were up there.

Neither Leanne nor I had been up to Grouse before (in the winter time anyways) and I have to say, we were not disappointed. It was a real life winter wonderland. I felt like I was in the forest from Frosty the Snowman. The trees had lights strung up in them, and a skating rink awaited all of the eager children.

After we were up there for about a half an hour, I realized that I had lost my drivers licence as it was no longer in my coat pocket :( We retraced our steps, and even checked with guest services, but to no avail. Since there was nothing I could do, we decided to simply enjoy our day and not worry about it! We took some amazing pictures and enjoyed each other's company. It was a great day to say the least.

After the licence conundrum, we took a sleigh ride, took in the sights and did a light walk. When we were about to leave, we met these two lovely girls from California! It's always so nice to connect with people from around the world, and Vancouver is a great place to do just that.

It was finally time to leave and we headed back down the gondola. When we got down, I decided that we might as well check the guest services there. Low and behold, they had my licence! Thanking the Good Samaritan that turned it for me, as it saved me time and money in the long run. We left with smiling faces and tired feet. It was a day well spent :)

Thanks for reading everyone! Have a great week.
