Wow! I can't believe it's been almost a month since we've been in Rome. This trip was a complete dream and I wish I could go back. Leanne and I arrived in Rome on May 24th by plane from Nice. It was a short, one hour flight! When we arrived, we took a little snooze in our hotel room and then went exploring to try and find the Colosseum. Because our luck is awful, we obviously didn't find it on the first night hehe. We did, however, have some great pizza for dinner.
The next day, we went searching for the Colosseum again. We went in the wrong direction, of course, but we ended up at the Spanish Steps and found the Trevi Fountain with no difficulty! There were so many cute shops and I loved the architecture of all of the buildings. After more pizza for dinner, we finally found the Colosseum. It was massive! We didn't go inside, but I kind of wish we had have. The Colosseum has always interested me, especially after seeing movies like Troy and Gladiator in elementary school. It was spectacular for sure!
On our last day in Rome, we went exploring to try and come across some stuff we hadn't seen the previous day. We found the Altare della Patria (large white building) and I was in awe. If there is one thing I miss the most about Europe, it is the stunning architecture and the cobblestone streets. We also found the San Paolo alle Tre Fontane (Church of Saint Paul and the Three Fountains). It was a cute little plaza filled with tons of street vendors and restaurants. Our last stop of the day was the Vatican City. Another overwhelming experience, for sure. I'm not religious by any means, but you can feel the faith emanating from that little piece of Rome.
Well, there you have it folks! Enjoy all of the photos, and don't forget to let me know what you guys think. Have a great day :)
Up next, Santorini! Thanks for reading :)
